Volunteer Role Description
Volunteer Role: Retail Assistant
Department: Charity Shop
Responsible to: Community Learning Training Officer
Time Commitment: Flexible - minimum of 3 hours commitment per week
Main purpose of voluntary role:
To work as part of a team in the day to day running of the shop.
Tasks Description:
1. Prepare clothing and other shops items, making them ready for display i.e. washing and ironing clothing.
2. To handle telephone calls in a timely and polite manner.
3. To deal with any customer queries.
4. To deal with customers in a polite and courteous manner.
5. Sort out donations made to the shop, including separating wanted and unwanted items.
6. To handle cash from customers that are purchasing items.
7. To keep the shop clean and presentable.
8. Prepare promotional materials for the shop i.e. promoting sale items
9. To attend training and other support meetings as necessary.
10. To uphold Arch policies such as the equal opportunities and health and safety policy.
Your main base of work will be in 65 Church Street, Stoke, and Arch Head Office, Canalside, Pelham Street, Hanley, as and when required.
