Internship Role: Human Resources/Organisational Development Intern
Department: Business Support
Responsible to: Head of Business Support
Time Commitment: 3-5 days per week
Duration: 6 Months
Working within the Business Support department at Arch will provide a thorough overview and working knowledge of Human Resources and Organisational Development in the Voluntary Sector. This opportunity will equip the placement with valuable workplace experience in the Human Resources profession. The position will include involvement in a wide range of activities as well as responsibility for specific projects and initiatives. The Intern position offers outstanding challenges, opportunities and rewards.
The role will provide:
- A background and working knowledge of Human Resources and Organisational Development in the voluntary sector.
- An opportunity to support the Head of Business Support to research, develop and initiate a range of initiatives in HR/OD practices.
- An insight into the Arch recruitment and selection processes, including development of job descriptions/person specifications, recruitment advertising, short listing, interviewing and offer letters and contracts of employment. To create induction packs and organise the induction process for new starters.
- Assist in identifying staff training and development opportunities to enhance business performance.
- Contribution to the review, development and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- To organise and maintain HR systems and employee files.
- An insight to reward and recognition mechanisms.
- The opportunity to work on specific HR projects, such as the development of a company handbook.
