Useful Items for Homeless and Disadvantaged People
Most of the people we work with have very few personal possessions. While we try to ensure that our accommodation projects are well-equipped, inevitably there is wear and tear, which means we need to replace household items and furniture regularly.
For all clients moving on from Arch accommodation into their own tenancy, we put together a Resettlement Pack containing basic essential items to make the move-in period easier. At present, these contain cutlery and kitchen items, cleaning materials, DIY essentials and stationery.
For collection of furniture donations, contact Kevin Broomhall on 01782 204 479
Women's Emergency Packs
Many women arrive at Elizabeth House having fled their homes in great haste, and we have emergency packs available containing basic clothing and toiletries, including nightwear, underwear, deodorant, a flannel, shampoo, shower gel, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and a hairbrush.
Emergency Food Supplies and Toiletries
Items are gratefully received, including:
Non-Perishable Food
- Tins such as baked beans, soup, fish and vegetables
- Tea, coffee, sugar
- Packet items such as soup and savoury rice; rice and pasta; cereal.
We distribute new toiletries such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and shower gel.
We also like to provide small Christmas gifts, Easter Eggs and Selection Boxes for all of our service users.
All of these seemingly small, often mundane, items are very gratefully received, and really do make all the difference to our clients.
Charity Shop Items
The Elizabeth House Charity Shop on Church Street in Stoke welcomes donations of all kinds, including books, jewellery, clothing and bric-a-brac.
Money raised from selling these items is shared throughout Arch and Elizabeth House.
The Charity Shop is always looking for new Volunteers.
