Elizabeth house & Tolkien house

Mission statement

To provide accommodation and services for abused, vulnerable women and their children, where they can regain control over their lives by making considered choices for their future, including re-establishing themselves in the community.

Background

Elizabeth House was established in 1976 by a group of concerned individuals who were moved to support women and children suffering domestic violence. During its long history, the project has assisted thousands of women and children, not only throughout North Staffordshire, but also nationwide.

The aim of the service is to offer a safe and secure environment for women and children, where they can be afforded a period of respite to make their own decisions, which may include resettlement into independent living in the community.
