DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is not only about physical abuse but also about emotional, sexual and financial abuse (in varying combinations) in any intimate relationship.
Our aim is to
- Make a difference to the lives of individuals and their families by offering
a confidential telephone support service.
- Information is available about legal, housing, money and children’s issues.
Helpline calls
- Helpline calls are taken by a team of trained volunteers who are supervised by the Domestic Violence Services Manager.
- We believe that you know what is best for you and will support you in any decision you make.
The person taking your call will:

Listen to you

Believe you

Reassure you that you are not alone, not going mad and that it is not your fault

Explore with you ways of helping you to cope with the situation
If you ask them they will:
- Give you information to enable you to make your own choices and decisions
- Refer you to other services, which may include local support groups & Counselling services
