Domestic violence services
Arch Domestic Violence Services started in 1976 when the Elizabeth Trust opened two women’s refuges; Elizabeth House and Tolkien House.
Since then, we have:
- Developed a local Domestic Violence Helpline, which is staffed entirely be volunteers.
- Begun our innovative Outreach Work in the community, which includes group and one-to-one support for female victims of domestic violence, and educational work with male perpetrators.
- Started our pioneering Relationships Without Fear schools programme, which raises awareness of domestic violence to school children.
- Extended our Training programme to teach more professionals about the issues surrounding domestic violence.
