Volunteer Role:    Domestic Violence Community Services Volunteer

Department:  Domestic Violence Services

Responsible to:  DV Manager/Education & Community Co-ordinator

Time Commitment: Minimum 3 hours per week

Main purpose of voluntary role:            

The community team provides outreach sessions at community venues whereby women can access face to face support. The community team also delivers the Freedom Programme; a 12 week education programme for victim/survivors of domestic violence

Tasks Description:                                               

  • The volunteer will assist in the delivery of the Freedom Programme at community venues across Stoke and Newcastle
  • To provide face to face support at community outreach sessions at various locations
  • To be involved in the publicity and marketing of domestic violence services by attending networking events as required
  • Prepare and maintain paper resource stock
  • Collate data for evaluation purposes
  • Complete Freedom programme evaluation forms
  • Complete OCN monitoring and evaluation forms
  • Complete actions required from community outreach sessions
  • Ensure case notes are completed
  • Acknowledge and adhere to community team policies and procedures

Volunteers are reminded to:

1. Adhere to the principles of confidentiality, for example do not discuss your customers details out in the public domain including your home environment.

Conditions of Role:

The agreement between Arch and the volunteer is not intended to be a legally binding contract between the parties and may be cancelled at any time at the discretion of either party.  Neither of us intends any employment relationship to be created either now or in the future.
