Women's Prevention Programme

Arch have recently introduced a Women's Prevention Programme to assist female perpertrators of abuse.

The goals of the programme are:

  • To increase the ability to recognise the abusive tactics used
  • To challenge the perpetrators views and behaviour
  • To change or modify behaviour by learning and developing new skills to help resolve issues in a non abusive way
  • To be able to identify non abusive behaviour

This program is not designed to help as part of any reconciliation; it is to hold the perpetrator accountable for their abusive/violent behaviour.

The goals of the programme are:

  • To understanding why you are violent /abusive

  • To take responsibility for your abusive behaviour

  • To learn that you are in control of your own behaviour and can choose not to be abusive

  • Learn how to notice when you are becoming abusive and how to STOP

  • To learn to negotiate and listen

  • Learn different non-abusive ways of dealing with challenges

  • To learn to build respectful relationships

  • To explore if past experiences have had an impact on how you behave now
